橡胶止水带和止水橡皮系以天然橡胶与各种合成橡胶为主要原料，掺加各种助剂及填充料，经塑炼、混炼、压制成型,其品种规格较多，有桥型、山型、P型、U型、Z型、乙型、T型、H型、E型、Q型等。根据使用情况又可分类为埋式橡胶止水带和背贴式橡胶止水带。该止水材料具有良好的弹性,性、耐老化性和抗撕裂性能,适应变形能力强、防水性能好，温度使用范围为-45℃-+60℃.当温度超过70℃，以及橡胶止水带受强烈的氧化作用或受油类等有机溶剂侵蚀时，均不得使用橡胶止水带。

a、 应根据构筑物的重要性等级、变形缝变形量及水压、止水带的使（应）用工作环境、经济因素等条件综合考虑确定。

止水带材质的选择可按照下列规定

a、 一般情况下多选择天然橡胶止水带；

d、 当遇有霉菌侵蚀的可能时，应考虑止水带的防霉性，其等级应达到2级及2级以上；

e、 当使用温度为： -25℃~60℃时选用氯丁橡胶止水带

f、 当遇有应与防水板等材料焊接时，宜选用与其同分子的合成树脂型止水带（EVA、PE、ECB、HDPE、PVC）。
